ARSTA - Advocate For The Revolution Of Science & Technology In Africa
About Us
The Advocate for the Revolution of Science and Technology in Africa is a group of diverse student and professional-based organization that is dedicated to the development of intensive programs in promoting science and technology that genuinely serve the interest of African countries. In order to enable the science and technology sector contribute to genuine development in Africa, ARSTA recognizes the need to stop the vicious cycle of poor science education, backward science and technology, and economic subservience brought about by historical and socio-economic conditions.

The objective of the organization is to initiate, promote and support science and technology in institutions in Africa to make the continent visible. Africa is one of the world's richest regions in terms of natural resources, blessed with vast mineral wealth, great agricultural capacity and rich diversity of plants and animals. Yet, as the values of these commodities declines, there is a need to stimulate the manufacture of value-added products in order to compete in an increasingly technological market place, and this will mean making a commitment to science and technology. We have been tagged “backwards and stunted”. This organization will effect change by stimulating the interests of our youths in science and engineering. Technology fuels the world economy, and its time for Africa to stimulate the interest of its youth to invent, innovate, create and recreate science. Our vision is to create a community service consisting of African youths who have learned and are ready to give back to their continent. We will go back home and teach Science, Math, Engineering, English language and many more to our elementary school kids, high schools and tertiary institutions. We will support researches, innovations and competitions to help engage their brain in progressive inventions and many more.

We aim to promote the teaching of science and engineering courses to elementary, high school and tertiary students in Africa. This in turn stimulates the growth of creativity and innovation in Africa and enables our African youths to compete successfully on the global playing field of advanced science and technology. This organization will unite African students all over the world, under the banner of bringing education to the doorsteps of Africa.

Africa has been involved in a vicious cycle of poverty, stunted educational growth and a serious lack of innovation, creativity and development. This is affecting the ability of this continent to play a major role in the science and technological advancement currently taking place in the global marketplace. A.R.S.T.A’s mission is to start a trend which will put an end to this vicious cycle and begin the climb towards success. Our plan for achieving this goal involves:

• Developing solid science and engineering programs that will enhance the learning of science and engineering courses by African students.
• Turning this program into an internship opportunity for African student-teachers so as to attract more student volunteers.
• Participating actively in other growing non- profit Africa development programs to demonstrate our commitment to the creation of a well-rounded and advanced Africa.
• Funding and supporting science and technological researches that our African youths are involved in.
• Organizing educational competitions that will sharpen the creative minds of our youths, and in the process test all what is being learned.
• Support researches, innovations, competitions to help engage Africans in inventions
• Empower the African youth with necessary skills to step up to global competition
• Encourage the African youth to be proactive, innovative and self-reliant
• Establish relationships with institution in properly effecting our program of action

ARSTA is committed to create a foundation to revolutionize and empower Africa, creating exciting opportunities, putting enormous premium on creative and innovative skills. Providing hands-on learning environment where the principles of calculus, chemistry, physics, technology, computer, economics and engineering are taught through activities that fill the classroom with a cacophony of nailing, robotic design, laboratory works. The result: the kids learn to apply academic principles to the real world, think strategically and develop problem solving skills.
